A generous Ethiopian and Eritrean platter at Enate
Ethiopian and Eritrean Cuisine / Soho, London

Eat
together.

A loud, generous table of berbere, injera and buna. Food from home, made for this city.

01 / The idea
Since 2018

Enate means mother in Amharic. It is a word for the person who makes sure there is always enough.

A table should
make room.

We cook the food we grew up with — the slow onions, the bright heat, the soft injera — and set it in the middle. Addis and Asmara by way of Soho. Come hungry. Bring people.

Buna
time.

Coffee is not a quick finish here. We roast the beans, grind them, brew them in the jebena and pour three rounds: abol, tona, baraka.
